The day starts off very hot. At eight in the morning a veil covers Algiers.
The main task of the day is to fit the survey equipment on the high-speed motorboat of the Navy.

The discussions which take took up most of were overturned in the afternoon.

The material packed in a 4x4 waits under the sun, when the unexpected intervention of a senior police officer changes the whole situation at around 1030 a.m.

The conversion requested from the Navy on Wednesday evening, were carried out. A power generating unit is welded onto the bridge and the pole intended to receive the sounder is also in place. The installation of the equipment including winches, GPS, and all corresponding connections also goes smoothly.
The installation of the indoor station (housing the receiver of the magnetometer and computer) also progresses quickly. At around 1400 we carry out some tests on the survey equipment. The magnetometer works well. However, we will need to tow it at some distance from the boat so that measurements are not disturbed by the hull which is made out of iron. The Soviet built high-speed motorboat is called Ras Tekkouch (Cape Tekkouch).

We are back to quay at around 4.30 pm after all tests were carried out.
The other task of the day was done by the group of divers who must find a boat from which to conduct diving operations in the Bay of Algiers.

With the fishing port close to the naval base, negotiations begin with the owner of a robust fishing vessel. The filming team goes around with a driver to carry out some video shots along the shore in the area of Hussein Dey. The team of divers, led by Djamal Ferchouli, goes to La Pérouse near Cap Matifou to discuss the possibility of renting another vessel.

After the dinner, the brief enables us to define the activities of the following day.
