Visit of the Bardo Museum

Visit of the Bardo Museum
After a cold lunch eaten on the terrace of the Palace of the rais, the whole team visited the Bardo Museum to see the ethnographic and prehistoric collections. Adila and Laid, the assistant director, guided us through the Palace which houses the museum that was set up in the 1920s. The beauty of the place and the lush gardens impressed us all. Conversation flowed in the room of “La Favourite”, the favourite wife who had her own special quarters. The section devoted to the Touareg was partricularly interesting because of the sheer variety and quality of the objects on display. The visit came to a pleasant end in the garden that is lovingly tended by the musuem gardner.

A few tireless indivuals decided to explore the streets of Alger but they made up for the exercise by sampling the local confectionery.
