- Arrival of Yann-

For a few days, the turtles have been more numerous to come to lie; in the end of last week Jean-Michel counted 31 of them, only in one night.
He rises early in the morning and counts the traces left by the turtles, it is not always simple when they cross and dig several holes.

Sylvain gives us a small drawn newspaper summarizing our activities and our concerns of the moment.

We decided to embank the buildings with sand to protect them better and to clear them easily. The hard work of digging begins again. During the morning break, we found out by telephone, that the plane coming from Maurice shouldn’t be delayed.

At 11:00, things become clear, the plane should settle at about 12:45. The lunch is advanced of fifteen minutes.

At 12:30, radio contact with the plane, which appears fifteen minutes late as planned, it makes two turns of the island to take note of the lane and settles gently. It is a plane of the Mauritians Coast Guards, a Dornier 226. It immobilizes on the lane and Yann Von Arnim comes out, received by the whole team.   The military crew and some passengers go around the station, the archaeological site of which two buildings are still clear. We also show them some of the objects found on the site.

Towards 15:00 the plane takes off, while Yann takes his districts. After a snack, we give him a shovel and he initiates himself to the joy of recovering.

Filled in about our strong consumption in mineral water, he arrived with 50 litres of water in his luggage; he also brings us some bread, and food product which has disappeared from our table for a few days.
