- Troubles with our connection -

In the early hours, the computer, which is used for Internet communications, drops us. In spite of the presence in the team of Laurent Hoarau, a talented computer specialist, we can’t do anything. We are therefore without possibility, neither to exchange e-mails, nor to send photographs. We still dispose of the weather forecast link to pass some essential messages, of which the text of today’s diary; that is all for the moment.

The excavation team leaves to go and finish the scouring of the zone of excavation, task which ended before the end of the morning. Bags filled with bones of birds pile up, they will make, I think, the happiness of our ornithologists.  A great quantity of the bird bones are concentrated around what appears, with more and more obviousness, as being a home. The hardened ground contains what seems to be lime produced by the calcinations of the blocks of coral which were used as support with the containers.
Above, wedged between two blocks, is a turned over tripod. The whole home is in the edge of the cleared zone and we shall know about it more from Monday, when we start to clear the neighbouring zone.

Started with ardour by a considerable work of clearing, the week finishes more calmly: It is time of the inventories and photographs of the objects which are accumulated. A photo studio was installed in a small shed annexed to the dining room, it works with full employment.

On his side, Nick continues the detailed topography of the island.

The day of Sunday will allow the whole team to take a breath; a table tennis tournament is already organized.
